Your 2-day desert adventure from Fes to Marrakech begins with a pickup from your riad in Fes. Then go to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert. Your first stop will be at Ifrane, sometimes regarded as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its milder climate. Following that, you'll traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains. You'll stop along the way in a cedar woodland to watch some Barbary monkeys.
Lunch will be served at a restaurant somewhere along the road. Then you'll pass through Ziz Valley (a palm-tree-filled paradise). To see this oasis, you will need to stop at a panoramic view.
You will arrive in the desert in the afternoon. You'll be taken to your luxurious tent by camels over the dunes. You will also see the sunset from a high dune. When you arrive at the campground, the staff will show you your own tent, where you may rest and shower. After a fantastic supper, the crew will start a campfire. Then, take a seat and enjoy the view while the Berbers drum and sing.
Today, it is advisable to get up early in the morning to witness a peaceful dawn. After a delicious breakfast, depart from the camp in a 4x4 vehicle for Merzouga. Then begin your lengthy trek to Marrakech. You will make various stops along the route.
You will stop at Ait Benhaddou for a panoramic view of Morocco's most renowned Kasbah. Several notable films and television programs have utilized the walled village. For instance, The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones have all used the Kasbah as a setting. Since 1987, UNESCO has designated the old settlement as a World Heritage Site.
After photographing this historical landmark, you'll travel through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. You'll stop here for some panoramic vistas. Your two-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech culminates with our guide dropping you off at your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
