We will depart Marrakech early on the first day of our 4 days tour to Fes, traversing the landscapes of the high Atlas mountains and the Tizi N'Tichka pass (2260 meters) in order to arrive at the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a traditional structure made of clay and stones that is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many filmmakers have used it as a natural setting in their works.
You will have lunch at a local Berber restaurant in Ait Benhaddou. Following a delectable meal, we will travel via Ouarzazate to Dades Valley. We will stop close to the Atlas Studios to snap some photographs before continuing to the town center to see the gorgeous Taourirt Kasbah, an ancient fortified castle. Following all of that, we will go to the Roses Valley, Dades Valley, and Skoura Palm Grove, where we will spend the first night of our 4 days trip.
We will begin our second day of a 4-day trip from Marrakech to Fes Desert this morning after breakfast at the hotel/riad. En route, we will make many pauses for pictures and to take in the panoramic views of the Todra valley and palm groves. When you arrive at the Todra Gorges, you may stroll down the valley's small, warm valley and take in the breathtaking canyon scenery. We will next go to Tinjdad City, where we will stop for a delectable lunch and relax before moving on to Erfoud City, which is well-known for its fossil manufacturers.
Afterwards, we will continue our 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes to the impressive high dunes of the Erg Chebbi Desert. After arriving at the camel riding meeting point, you will ride a camel with a guide across the orange dunes to witness the magical sunset and take some beautiful pictures. Later, you will head to the desert camp for an overnight stay in a traditional nomad luxury or standard tent, depending on your preference for the type of camp. There, you will enjoy a delectable dinner and dance under the stars while listening to Berber music.
Following a leisurely breakfast, we will go to Khamlia, the dark settlement. They originated in Sudan, in southern Africa. They were first taken as slaves to the north. You will get to know a few of their families while sipping mint tea and listening to their Gnaoua music. On the third day of our 4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, we will stop at Mfis Oasis, a small Berber village near the copper and coal mines where the majority of the Merzouga population works. After that, we will make two stops: Merdane village, where you can meet Berber families before returning to the Merzouga desert for lunch, and finally, your hotel or riad for the night, which includes breakfast and dinner.
Our 4 days desert trip from Marrakech to Fes ends today. You'll get up early to see the breathtaking dawn. We will depart the desert after breakfast and go to Erfoud to see a fossil and marble workshop. Later, as we go through the picturesque Ziz Valley, we will pause to take in the expansive vista of the valley's hundreds of palm palms. Proceed to Midelt, the apple capital, and have some free time for lunch in the city or at a nearby location.
Following that, we'll travel to Azrou's cedar forest, home to Barbary Macaques, where you can get some stunning photos. From there, we'll head to Ifrane, known as Morocco's second Switzerland due to its consistently low temperatures and ranking among the world's eight cleanest cities, where we'll stroll through its gardens and see the Atlas Lion statue. This concludes the 4-day excursion from Marrakech to Fes and the Merzouga desert. We will then travel to Fes and drop you off at your lodging or at the airport.
